My 10 Most Influential Movies
As a writer, I’ve found there are many influences on my fiction works. Everything from the mundane chores of life to the entertainment I enjoy of the weekends may play a part in activating my mind’s eye. Here is my list of the top ten movies that have influenced my writing, again, these are in no particular order, just the movies that have influenced me the most.

A New Year Upon Us
As we dive into the New Year I can’t help but look back at last year as being a success for my writing. I set a goal to have six books published and up for sale in that year’s span and while four of them were up for sale, the final two were finished and if it hadn’t been for a vendor issue, they would have been published on time. Both should be on my website, www.leifericksonwriting.com sometime in early January. With six books online already, what does 2015 hold for Leif Erickson Writing?

Ethan Drew
Continuing with the ‘Ghost Town’ themed blogs, which I’m still taking questions for, today I’m going to write about the main character in the first book, Ethan Drew. Autumn
Autumn is one of the most wonderful times of the year. The trees are a mosaic of amazing colors, the reds, yellows, and oranges, the air is crisp and fresh, and the aromas of harvest fill the air. It’s one of the things that I enjoy most, Minnesota in the full grip of the fall season. With the abundance of State Parks, forests, and campgrounds, the beauty of fall in Minnesota is easy to capture and enjoy. Whether you decide to hike down one of the many trails throughout the state, or bike along the roads, or even canoe down the lakes and rivers, Minnesota is a nature lover’s paradise.

The Art of Storytelling
When I first started writing I read as much as I could about how to tell a good story. It’s amazing how just very simple changes in the words that are used can change the entire makeup of a phrase even though they say the exact same things. Depending on the situation, sometimes you are forced into using a certain form or style of writing, but when you tell a good story you can let it flow freely.
