The past couple weeks have been whirlwind, a flurry of activity just trying to keep up and make sure everything is getting done. With a new book being released soon there’s no shortage of editing and revising that needs to be done.

Coordinating all the parts of the release and making sure everything is ready is a monumental task. Along with that, there have been changes to my website and social media, taking on new marketing before the book release happens.

With the new book taking up plenty of time, as we break into a late spring in my hometown area, there’s no shortage of work that needs to be done around my yard. Gardens need to be tilled and planted and all the branches and sticks that fell off over winter need to be cleaned. It’s a wet spring in my area so that adds water management issues on top of that. At my regular job, spring farm work is breaking out and we always seem to be shorthanded no matter how many people we have working.

But within all this rush, I was hired as the DJ at the local prom for the high school and the Spring Splash for the local elementary school. These were the schools that I went to growing up. These are always fun shows and the students that attend have a great time. I only DJ a few shows a year but it’s a hobby that I have fun with. This year was special though. The Spring Splash was the first show that I did where my daughter, a 1^st grader, attended. She and her friends had a blast at the dance and I don’t even want to think about how quickly the time will pass before she’ll be attending the prom dances. Will I still be the DJ at that point? Never say never but we’ll see if I have the time when that day comes.
