A New Year Upon Us
As we dive into the New Year I can’t help but look back at last year as being a success for my writing. I set a goal to have six books published and up for sale in that year’s span and while four of them were up for sale, the final two were finished and if it hadn’t been for a vendor issue, they would have been published on time. Both should be on my website, www.leifericksonwriting.com sometime in early January. With six books online already, what does 2015 hold for Leif Erickson Writing?
This year I have a goal set to once again get six books published and up for sale so that I have a total of twelve books in the marketplace. Another lofty goal considering all the other events and work that I have going on in my life, but I feel that I have the dedication and passion to my writing to reach it. As for what the books are going to be, I think my first blog of the year will be a little preview of what’s to come.
The first book that will be published is finished and should be available sometime in February. While the title is still being thought over, the book is a fantasy set in the mid 1800’s about a young man trying to win the heart of a woman and in his attempt to marry her he ends up crossing into a fantasy land where he has to help a young princess as she tries to save her family and kingdom against an old evil that is terrorizing their land. The book is fast paced and filled with good humor framing the struggle of good vs. evil.
The next book that will be published is the continuation of the ‘Ghost Town’ series. Having left Whiterock, Doctor Victor Tesla and Ghost Town Labs have set their sights on the metropolis of Genesis in an attempt to show the world how destructive their ghosts can be. In this installment, titled, ‘Ghost Town – The Genesis Event Part I: Destruction’ members of Ghost Town Labs are stationed undercover throughout the city in basic jobs, watching the destruction as it happens. This is a haunting book that shouldn’t be read in the dark.
The third book to come out will be an action adventure about a woman who’s fed up with her life and longing for something better. She finds it when she discovers an ad looking for people to work on an expedition in the Caribbean to search out sunken ships. They make a massive discovery but with all the gold and artifacts they are discovering, mercenaries who want to steal the treasure and sell it on the black market are not far behind. An attack leaves her hurt and alone in an area she doesn’t fully understand while she tries to fight the attackers and get home safely. This was a very fun book to write and I know that people are going to love reading it.
My fourth and fifth books for the year will both be in the ‘Ghost Town’ series. They will follow the events that take place in the city of Genesis as a strike team moves in and tries to capture Doctor Tesla and the final book will follow Doctor Tesla throughout the first day and night as the initial event happens and ghost ravage the city.
The sixth and final book is up in the air right now. I have two books that have been written and need touch up work, but I may save them for 2016 as I have many ideas about what I’d like to write about next. I have a notebook with well over fifty ideas for novels as well as many other first draft and outlines that could be turned into full length novels. I have a number of short stories and poems that I’m polishing up to put in a single book, plus I want to start working on a series of self-help, business and economic books.
I’ve always been very passionate and involved in the business world. I have followed the stock market and been making trades since I was in high school. I’ve seen many people have success and many more fail and I believe that I’ve learned something from each incident. Within the next year or two I plan to have some books that will show some of the biggest differences in the people around me that have succeeded and those who’ve failed. I’m very excited about writing those books and I may just get a start on them this year.
As we start the year, I realize I’ve set a huge task in front of my, but like always, I’m ready to tackle it head on. To see what books I’ve got out, and to purchase your copy today, head over to www.leifericksonwriting.com Thank you.
